Family room in Paris: triple, quadruple or two rooms?

Family room with a double bed and two single beds in a Korner hotel in Paris

Three of you, four of you, with a baby or teenagers: which room should you book in Paris? Room layouts, sizes and Korner hotels suited to families.

For a family of three, a triple room is enough: a double bed for the parents and a single bed for the child. For four with two children, you need a quadruple or family room, which is rarer in Parisian 3-star hotels and often the first to be booked for the summer. With teenagers or between adults, two rooms are often more comfortable. At Korner, six of our thirteen hotels offer rooms for four people, and most have triple rooms.

How many people can stay in a hotel room in Paris?

Parisian rooms are compact: in a 3-star hotel, a double room often measures between 10 and 13 m². Each room has a maximum capacity set by the hotel, children included. That is why you need to state the exact number of guests when booking: the type of room offered and the price depend on it.

A child added on the day of arrival cannot always be accommodated in the room booked. It is better to book the right layout from the outset than to rely on a last-minute solution.

Triple, quadruple, family: the possible layouts

  • Triple room with a double bed and a single bed: the classic option for two parents and one child.
  • Triple room with three single beds: practical for three adults, a group of friends or a parent with two older children.
  • Quadruple or family room with a double bed and two single beds: designed for two adults and two children.
  • Family room with two double beds: an option for four people, teenagers included.
  • Two rooms: a double for the parents and a twin for the children, ideal with teenagers or to keep a little privacy.

Which neighborhood to choose when traveling as a family?

The right neighborhood depends on your children's ages and your plans for the day.

Our guide which neighborhood to stay in Paris covers each area in detail.

And with a baby?

Let us know when you book. A travel cot quickly takes up space in a Parisian room, and the hotel needs to check that the chosen room can fit one. Some of our hotels, such as the Korner Montparnasse, provide baby equipment free of charge: ask for it before you arrive so it is ready for you.

When to book for the summer holidays?

Each hotel only has a few family rooms, and they are the first to go for July and August. Families coming in summer often book several months ahead, as early as winter or early spring.

Booking early does not necessarily tie you down: unless special conditions apply, a direct booking at the flexible rate can be cancelled or changed free of charge until 12:00 PM the day before arrival. And by booking on our website, you pay up to 15% less than on booking platforms, a difference that adds up over several nights in a family room.

Are there more of you?

Blended families, cousins, holidays with several households: for more than three rooms, our dedicated service will put together a single proposal, possibly spread across several of our nearby hotels. Visit our group booking page.

What is the difference between a triple room and a quadruple room?
